Skin Rejuvenation Treatment

As you age, dark spots on your face and body may seem to appear almost overnight. While actually making their presence known over an extended period of time, these dark spots can add undesirable years to your physical appearance.

These changes to your skin occur through the normal process of aging, sun damage, and even genetics, and there isn’t a magic formula potion you can buy that will erase the unwanted spots and restore your appearance to the way you want it.

Fortunately, the Solihull Medical Cosmetic Clinic, under the care of leading laser expert, Dr. Victor Sagoo, is proud to be one of a handful of clinics in the UK to offer the most powerful Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment for laser resurfacing, sun damage, skin rejuvenation and facial redness. LimeLight in West Midlands may help improve your skin tone and any surface imperfections associated with aging and damage caused by ultraviolet rays.

Are you a candidate for skin rejuvenation limelight treatments?

Anyone whose skin has been damaged by overexposure to the sun, has age spots, freckles, or Rosacea may benefit from LimeLight treatments and laser resurfacing to skin rejuvenation. Powerful, yet gentle enough for any skin type or any ethnicity, LimeLight does not cause harm to your skin’s surface. Instead, its laser light targets the lower layers of the dermis, and causes no damage to any of the top layers of your skin.

What are the most commonly treated areas of the body?

Typically, the most commonly treated areas for skin rejuvenation are the face, neck, arms, hands, and chest – the parts of your body that are exposed most frequently to the harmful rays of the sun. Tiny, visible veins and brown spots usually respond quite well to LimeLight in West Midlands.

What should I expect during an IPL skin rejuvenation treatment?

If after your consultation with Dr. Sagoo you decide that IPL treatment is for you, your initial skin rejuvenation treatment will be scheduled. There is no need for anaesthesia or pain killers during your treatment. A cooling gel will be applied to the area that will be treated. Then, a handheld device will be gently applied over the skin as precise light pulses are delivered. You may experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation during the treatment.

(*Disclaimer: Results will vary from person to person.)

A LimeLight skin rejuvenation treatment takes thirty minutes to one hour to complete. Anywhere from two to six treatments will be needed to see results. Dr. Sagoo may recommend additional skin rejuvenation treatments for skin that has been excessively damaged by the sun such as Laser Resurfacing.

What is the recovery process like after an IPL skin rejuvenation treatment?

Brown spots may begin to darken and your skin may show some redness. The area that you had treated may appear slightly swollen. These after effects may last anywhere from a few hours to a day or two. You can apply makeup to cover up any redness. Then, within one to three weeks, any darkened spots will usually flake off and fade. Redness will likely decrease and your complexion may noticeably improve. You will continue to see positive results after each treatment, and your skin will improve for months afterward as new collagen is produced.
