Laser Photorejuvenation

Solihull Medical Cosmetic Clinic has been carrying out laser photo -rejuvenation procedures for 6 years. This is one of our most popular laser treatments for patients that want no downtime, a low risk of side effects, and a treatment that can be used on all skin types safely.

What is laser photorejuvenation?

The laser photo-rejuvenation procedure uses non-invasive laser technology which works safely, discretely and effectively. It may improve the appearance of fine line wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin texture and diffuse redness and scars. Many patients see subtle yet consistent results after each treatment, without unwanted side effects such as bruising or excessive skin irritation. No local anaesthetic is required.

What areas can be treated?

Clients report excellent results over their entire faces and necks.

What is diffuse redness?

Diffuse redness is a general appearance of facial redness, such as rosy cheeks. The condition is caused by dilated capillaries, resulting in an appearance of general redness. The most commonly affected areas are the nose, forehead and cheeks. Diffuse redness is often associated with a condition called Rosacea. The laser photo rejuvenation may improve your appearance by gently reducing this condition.

What does the procedure feel like?

Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. Gentle warming of the skin may be felt as the laser handpiece is moved back and forth just above the skin’s surface. You can immediately return to normal activities, making sure you use sunscreen if going outdoors.

How does laser photo-rejuvenation work?

By gently heating the upper dermis well below your skin’s surface, laser photo-rejuvenation may improve the appearance of wrinkles through collagen stimulation. Additional heat is generated in dilated capillaries to reduce redness.

What can I expect before the treatment?

No gel or anaesthetic is required, though you will be asked to remove your make up.

How many treatments will I need?

The treatment results are subtle. On average you may require six treatments to achieve optimal results. This will vary from person to person.

What are the possible side effects?

Although most patients report few side effects if any, the most common side effect is redness, which usually disappears within a few hours after treatment.

What kind of textural improvements can you expect with laser photo rejuvenation?

Over the course of six treatments, laser photo rejuvenation may help restore the skins youthful glow and appearance by smoothing out uneven textures caused by ageing, sun damage or scars.

You may see a healthier-looking complexion. Larger pores may be reduced in size, and minor imperfections may be diminished.

The individual treatment results are usually subtle but the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.

Combination Treatments

Laser photo rejuvenation may offer improvement of your appearance when used as a stand-alone treatment course, and it can also further enhance the effects of other treatments when used in combination with chemical peels or microdermabrasion. The 2D and 3D skin rejuvenation programme available exclusively at our clinic can address sun damage as well as collagen damage and skin laxity and may remodel and restore damaged skin.
