Dermaroller Therapy MNS

Dermaroller Micro-Needling System

Microneedle Roller - Dermaroller

Dermaroller therapy is a new non-surgical skin regeneration procedure to help repair and restore the skin’s surface. The procedure uses tiny micro-medical needles on the dermaroller to improve skin damage from ageing, exposure to the sun, pigmentation, acne scars and stretch marks. It is particularly effective against fine lines and wrinkles.

How does it work?

The concept behind dermaroller needling is that small amounts of damage to the skin can lead to the stimulation of new collagen production. The needle breaks the skin and causes micro-trauma and micro-inflammation. Your body responds by sending blood to the area for healing. As your skin repairs itself, new collagen builds up just below the surface. The wrinkles, lines or depressed scars may plump from the bottom-up without the use of anything artificial. Repeated sessions may gradually and continually build new collagen which can fill in the treated areas.

Furthermore underneath the surface of the skin, much more is going on. In fact, the healing response which begins immediately upon the injury kick starts a healing process that may last for several months, and even up to a year. The natural healing process is where all the magic happens.

Does it hurt?

Prior to treatment, a topical anaesthetic will be applied to help numb the skin ready for the treatment. This will make the procedure more comfortable.

Are the results immediate?

During the first few weeks after the dermaroller micro-needling, the skin may look brighter and more vibrant. After six to twelve months, you may notice reduced pigmentation and tightening of the skin. Overall results may improve over a few months.

How long does a session take?

The treatment takes approximately one hour in total. After the procedure, a cooling mask is applied to the face if the face is being treated. This helps to reduce any redness immediately following the procedure.

How long will it take to recover?

Recovery is quick with minimum downtime and you can return to normal activities shortly after treatment.

Is any aftercare necessary?

Post recovery cream and high factor sunblock are advised to protect the skin and maintain results. Makeup can be applied shortly after treatment.

Can the dermaroller treatment be used in combination with other treatments?

The dermaroller treatment can be effective in itself, but results may be further enhanced by combining with other treatments including chemical peels, microdermabrasion and photo-rejuvenation. Dr.Sagoo has devised combination packages that are designed to achieve the optimum results. Please contact the clinic for a full range of combination treatments.

How much does it cost?

Treatment costs are based on the strength of the treatment required; however, prices start from £150 for just skin rejuvenation.  A course of three treatments at monthly intervals is usually advised.
